India has sent approximately 2,500 kg (2.5 tons) of emergency medicines and medical supplies to Afghanistan to assist victims injured in a recent airstrike reportedly carried out by Pakistan.
The humanitarian aid shipment arrived on March 20, 2026, following an urgent request to support civilians affected by the attack. The consignment includes essential life-saving medicines, medical kits, disposables, and specialized equipment aimed at treating hundreds of injured individuals.
According to officials from the Ministry of External Affairs, the assistance reflects India’s continued commitment to humanitarian support and regional stability. Spokesperson Randhir Jaiswal emphasized that the aid demonstrates India’s solidarity with the people of Afghanistan during a critical time.
This move highlights India’s role as a key humanitarian partner in the region, providing timely medical assistance in crisis situations. It also underscores the importance of international cooperation in responding to emergencies and supporting affected populations.
Experts believe such humanitarian efforts strengthen diplomatic ties while addressing urgent healthcare needs in conflict-affected areas.
