The mercy petition of an accused who was sentenced to death for kidnapping, raping, and murdering a two-year-old girl in Maharashtra in 2022 was rejected by President Droupadi Murmu on Sunday. This is the third mercy petition rejected by Murmu since she assumed the presidency in 2022.
