The Delhi government has announced a major relief for electric vehicle buyers. All electric vehicles registered in Delhi will now get a 100% exemption on road tax and registration fees. Electric cars priced up to ₹30 lakh will receive the full benefit, while strong hybrid vehicles will get a 50% concession.
However, electric vehicles priced above ₹30 lakh will not receive any exemption. The government has also planned to strengthen EV infrastructure across the city. Delhi Transco Limited has been appointed as the nodal agency for planning charging stations and battery-swapping networks.
A digital portal and single-window system will also be launched to make it easier for people and businesses to set up charging stations in Delhi.
