India Approves ₹78,000 Crore Defence Deal with Israel to Boost Air Force Power

India has approved a major defence deal with Israel worth ₹78,000 crore, significantly boosting the combat capabilities of the Indian Air Force (IAF). Under this agreement, India will acquire advanced missiles and precision-guided weapons from Israeli defence companies.

According to reports, the Defence Acquisition Council (DAC) has cleared the procurement of Rampage air-to-ground missiles, LORA missile systems, and SPICE-1000 precision-guided bombs. These advanced weapons are expected to enhance the striking power of frontline fighter aircraft such as the Su-30MKI and MiG-29.

The deal will allow the Indian Air Force to carry out long-range, high-precision strikes against enemy targets while operating from safer distances. Defence experts say this acquisition will significantly strengthen India’s deterrence capability amid rising regional security challenges.

Officials state that the agreement reflects India’s focus on modernising its armed forces and deepening strategic defence cooperation with Israel. Once deployed, the new systems are expected to play a crucial role in enhancing India’s air combat readiness and overall national security.
