Indonesia Suspends $1.5 Billion Truck Order from Tata Motors and Mahindra

Indonesia has temporarily suspended a massive commercial vehicle order worth approximately $1.5 billion involving Indian automobile giants Tata Motors and Mahindra & Mahindra.

The deal reportedly included over 100,000 trucks and commercial vehicles.

The decision came after political opposition and concerns raised by local industry groups in Indonesia.

Critics argued that domestic manufacturers were capable of fulfilling the order internally.

Following parliamentary discussions, the Indonesian government initiated a review of the procurement process, leading to delays in imports.
