Consumers should not pay extra money for LPG cylinders, as the official domestic cylinder price in Delhi is around ₹913 and any overcharging can be reported immediately.
Reports have emerged that some LPG delivery agents and gas agencies are demanding as much as ₹2,000 for a domestic gas cylinder, even though the official price is much lower. Consumers are advised to pay only the amount shown on the printed bill or in the official LPG booking app. The domestic LPG cylinder price in Delhi currently stands at around ₹913.
Customers should verify the cylinder price through official portals and apps provided by Indian Oil Corporation, Bharat Petroleum Corporation Limited and Hindustan Petroleum Corporation Limited. Consumers can also check their bill through the “My LPG” portal before making any payment.
If a delivery agent demands extra money, consumers can immediately file a complaint using the toll-free customer care numbers of their LPG provider. Complaint numbers include:
- Indian Oil (Indane): 1800-2333-555
- Bharat Gas: 1800-22-4344
- HP Gas: 1800-2333-555
Authorities have clarified that charging even ₹1 above the official bill amount is illegal and action can be taken against gas agencies involved in black marketing or overcharging. Consumers are advised to keep a copy of the bill and, if possible, take photo proof while filing a complaint.
