Namit Malhotra Rejects ₹700 Crore OTT Deal for Ramayana, Eyes Bigger Digital Rights Offer

Producer Namit Malhotra has reportedly rejected a massive ₹700 crore OTT deal for the upcoming two-part film Ramayana. The film stars Ranbir Kapoor, Yash and Sai Pallavi.

Reports claim that the makers received an OTT offer worth ₹700 crore for the digital rights of both parts of the film. However, Namit Malhotra reportedly turned it down because he believes the movie deserves a much bigger deal due to its huge scale, star cast and worldwide appeal. The team is now said to be aiming for a digital rights deal close to ₹1000 crore.

The upcoming Ramayana is being directed by Nitesh Tiwari and is considered one of the most expensive Indian films ever made. According to reports, the total budget of both parts may cross ₹4000 crore. Because of this huge investment, the makers want to recover a large amount through OTT, satellite and theatrical rights.
