
Pakistan Hikes High-Octane Petrol Prices Amid Economic Crisis
Pakistan has significantly increased the levy on high-octane petrol (HOBC), raising it from around Rs 105 per litre to over Rs 305 per litre. This sharp hike comes as part of the government’s efforts to tackle the ongoing economic and energy crisis.
The decision was approved by Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif under austerity measures. The government increased the levy by nearly Rs 200 per litre to boost revenue and stabilize the economy.
Current Fuel Price Situation
According to official reports, the levy on high-octane fuel now stands at approximately Rs 305.37 per litre, compared to Rs 105.37 earlier.
