Due to the revised fares, passengers traveling in non-AC categories will have to pay extra charges. In particular, non-AC passengers traveling distances of up to 500 kilometers will now have to pay ₹10 more. Railway authorities stated that the decision was taken to boost revenue and manage rising operational costs.
The fare increase will impact millions of daily passengers across the country and has already sparked discussions among travelers.
