Tata Nexon has emerged as the best-selling compact SUV in India during FY2025-26. The SUV recorded total sales of 2,16,054 units, making it the most popular model in the compact SUV segment. Buyers preferred the Nexon because of its strong safety ratings, modern design, multiple engine options, and affordable pricing.
The Indian compact SUV market continued to grow rapidly in FY2025-26 as more customers shifted from hatchbacks and sedans to SUVs. Features such as higher ground clearance, better road presence, spacious interiors, and improved technology made compact SUVs the first choice for many Indian buyers.
After Tata Nexon, Tata Punch secured the second position with sales of 1,83,980 units. Maruti Suzuki Brezza came third with 1,80,104 units sold, while Maruti Suzuki Fronx stood in fourth place with 1,72,363 units. Hyundai Venue and Kia Sonet also remained among the top-selling compact SUVs because of their premium interiors and advanced features.
