This century surpassed Sachin Tendulkar’s record for the most centuries in a single international format (Tendulkar had 51 in Tests), making Kohli the leader with 52 in ODIs. It also marked his 25th ODI ton at home and sixth against South Africa, breaking Tendulkar’s mark of five in that matchup.
