PVR INOX has created history by opening the world’s highest-altitude cinema in Leh, Ladakh, located at an elevation of around 11,500 feet above sea level. The landmark project brings a modern multiplex experience to one of India’s most remote and high-altitude regions.
This new PVR INOX property is the highest standalone multiplex in the world and marks Leh’s first-ever modern cinema. The two-screen cinema is equipped with 2K digital projection, Dolby 7.1 surround sound, and advanced 3D technology, all specially engineered to function efficiently in high-altitude, low-oxygen conditions.
Situated along the Leh–Manali Bypass Road in Saboo, the multiplex also introduces Leh’s first organized food court, featuring popular brands such as KFC, Pizza Hut, Costa Coffee, and Vaango. The complex aims to serve local residents, tourists, and armed forces personnel stationed in the region.
Beyond entertainment, the project is expected to boost tourism, employment, and cultural development in Ladakh, offering a premium movie-going experience in a challenging yet iconic location.
